Dental implants

Missing teeth can impact your confidence, ability to eat comfortably, and overall oral health. If you find that traditional dentures are uncomfortable or struggle with gaps in your smile, dental implants offer a reliable, long-term solution.

Designed to function just like natural teeth, implants provide stability, durability, and aesthetics, restoring both function and confidence to your smile.

A dental implant is a small, biocompatible titanium screw that serves as an artificial tooth root. Once placed into the jawbone, the implant integrates with the surrounding bone in a process called osseointegration, creating a secure foundation for a replacement tooth. Implants can be used to support single crowns, bridges for multiple missing teeth, or even a full set of dentures.

The Benefits of Dental Implants

Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, dental implants are designed to be a permanent solution. They offer numerous benefits, including:

A natural look and feel, blending seamlessly with your existing teeth

Improved ability to eat and speak without discomfort or slippage

Prevention of bone loss and preservation of facial structure

A long-lasting solution with proper care, often lasting a lifetime

No need to alter adjacent teeth, unlike traditional bridges

The Dental Implant Process

The journey to a restored smile with dental implants involves several key steps, each carefully planned to ensure the best possible outcome:

Initial Consultation and Implant Planning

Our team will assess your oral health, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine if implants are the right solution for you. This includes digital 3D X-rays and optical scanning to allow for digital planning to improve outcomes and reduces risks.

Implant Placement

The implant is placed into the jawbone in a minor surgical procedure performed under local anaesthetic. Over the following months, the bone naturally fuses with the implant, providing a solid foundation for the final restoration.

Healing and Integration

During this healing phase, the implant integrates with your jawbone, a process that typically takes a few months. Temporary restorations may be provided to maintain function and appearance.

Abutment Placement

Once the implant has successfully integrated, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant. This serves as the anchor for the final prosthetic tooth or teeth.

Final Restoration

A custom-made crown, bridge, or denture is securely fitted to the abutment, completing your smile transformation. We take great care to ensure that your new teeth match the colour, shape, and function of your natural teeth.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

Most adults with missing teeth can benefit from dental implants, but certain factors influence suitability. Healthy gums and sufficient jawbone density are essential for implant success. If bone loss has occurred, bone grafting procedures may be recommended to build a strong foundation. Our team will assess your individual case and discuss all available options with you.
